I have three chicks on order from My Pet Chicken who will arrive end of June. Two of them will lay green and blue eggs. Still pondering names for the three girls...
It's always funny to pull up to a valet and tell them about the electric mini and it's weird braking thing and fast acceleration. They nod as if, yeah whatever I can drive, dude, and then get in the car. There's usually a bit of a jolt and jerk as they park but when they get out of the car they're just beaming. This valet at Cafe De Solar just beams now when we pull up. He's got it down.
How quickly mileage flies. Our first week and first 100 miles. So far not too many people are aware that the mini is electric though the cops seem more on the ball than most by IDing the electric pretty quickly with appreciative glances. But then, they see a lot of cars.
The fun thing is creeping up behind people and seeing them jump when they realize a car is behind them. The car is that damn quiet. That just never gets old.
I have officially placed my order for my chicken coop. Decided to go with the Omelet Eglu -- seemed the easiest to work with. Plus, their customer service is great and responsive. Isn't it shocking to know that many people who sell coops are flakes? Not Omelet. They called, confirmed, arranged delivery, answered questions -- stellar. Here's the catalog pic -- will post mine as soon as it arrives and gets built in my waiting coop terrace.
Take a second and donate to a cause that could really use the extra help. These guys risk their lives for this amazing endangered species. Really inspiring.
I just hold on tight. ;-) read more
